"The Immersion was a wonderful experience. It shifted my yoga practice, my knowledge and my attitude into a more loving and receptive state. Looking at where I am now and where I was in the begining of the immersion, there have been so many subtle shifts I didnt notice the great distance I had traveled. Although the yogic journey is never over, I am very pleased with the transformation and guidenace offered by Amy I. and other Anusara teachers."
"The Immersion was one of the most valuable trainings I could have ever taken. There was so much to be taken in, learned and shared with one another. Amy is a Very gifted Anusara Yoga teacher, I am truly blessed that she is my teacher. I look forward to many more trainings with Amy. Her playfulness and inspiration made me want to do, and be my very best always."
"The Immersion for me was not only a blossoming of my yoga practice on the mat, but an explosion of my yoga practice off the mat; it was like a fine tuning of being more truly and authentically myself. Allowing myself to move into the flow of a higher frequency has prompted deeper connections with people, I met several lifelong friends through the immersion that I am eternally grateful for. I feel very fortunate to have taken advantage of studying with Amy. She knows Anusara intimately and is one of the best transmitters of information that I have ever had the pleasure and good fortune of studying with. She makes the vast body of information that is Anusara totally understandable and accessible! And she loves to laugh, so it is a guaranteed bright spot in the day! I am positive that anyone, no matter how long they have been practicing, would benefit from this experience."
"The Anusara Immersion is one of the best, highest quality programs that I have been involved in. It offers a rich, heart-centered study covering the entire body of yoga from the Level I, II and III syllabi to the Sutras and Tantra philosophy. The Immersion sets the stage for continuing yoga studies and is a powerful prerequisite to the TT. The Immersion and TT has transformed how I connect to people, to my community and even to my own power. It has shown me how I can negotiate and unfold my life experience from the practice and study of yoga and it has opened the door for me to live larger, fuller, more completely. The Immersion and TT has been one of the most challenging and best experiences of my life."
"My yoga is doing me in ways I never have imagined. My inner teacher feels illumined and powerful, revered and nourished. She is like a board of directors living in my heart, that I consult with through my breath-so accessable- with the juiciest, truest, life affirming advice, offering freedom in the simplest, sweetest language that I now accept, understand and cherish."
"The Immersion in some ways, is actually better than a teacher training because it completely immerses you in the study of Yoga so that you can truly become more refined in your understanding of this great system. It's similar to going on retreat, where as teacher training is like being the great Bodhisattva and going back into the world to give it benefit. The immersion is a going within, a Nimeshic quality that makes you a better person, so that you can better embrace the world around you and return your gifts. I am truly honored I was able to participate in this unique program and unwrap my own gifts and talents that I knew I harbored inside my soul. People who take this can literally unravel Karmic knots and speed up their spiritual evolutionary process. This in the end will help the world as one person fixes themselves, so will it repeat itself."
"Participating in the 108 hour Anusara immersion with Amy Ippoliti was essential for me to really absorb the depth of the Anusara teacher training that followed. In the immersion, I really learned the Universal Principles of Alignment as well as Tantric philosophy and Tantric perspective on the ancient texts such as the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and The Bagavhad Gita. The 108 hours was rich and it allowed me time to not only absorb the teachings but for me to contemplate who I wanted to be and to gradually affirm my own unique talents and expressions. The immersion left me in a perfect place to delve into the teacher training curriculum that i got accepted into afterwards. I would have had a hard time understanding hands on adjustments and theraputic techniques given in teacher training without having done studied Anusara technique in the immersion. Because of the immersion, I felt deeply versed in Tantirc philosophy and Anusara language so, when it came to learning about class planning and theme development in teacher training, I felt bilingual in the Anusara technology and glad to have my immersion notes to reference! The whole process from immersion to Teacher Training with Amy shifted my perspective infinitely! I made dear friends who journeyed with me for that year and a half that I will remain close to forever. I had already been teaching Yoga about two years when I began the immersion and the time I spent with Amy helped me soar as a Yoga practitioner and as a Yoga teacher because I learned to recognize my own worthiness and my highest purpose for living and teaching yoga. I couldn't be more pleased with my choice to invest my time and resources in the Anusara Immersion and teacher training! I'm eternally thankful for Amy, she is a gem and we're so blessed to have her in Colorado!"
"I think you are the one of most gifted Asana teachers in your generation. I have enjoyed being in your immersion."
"The Immersion was absolutely amazing and I am so thankful to have the opportunity to study with such an incredibly gifted teacher. I can't say thank you enough for all of the insights, humor and inspiration you have shed on all of us. It has truly enriched all aspects of my life."
"My heartfelt gratitude for guiding me on this incredible journey which has transformed my life in so many ways, both on and off the mat. I will miss your teaching sooooo much."
"I hope this finds you well and ecstatic. I was so inspired and moved by the Immersion and your guidance and teachings. You touched me and illuminated me. For I did feel my light brighten through our time spent together. So many things that I would love to discuss with you: How once we align the spirals in our bodies we sink into the infinite spiral matrix of creation that beats the breath of life into existence. Wow!!!"
"Your knowledge, support and exuberance inspired me. Your extra special attention gave me hope that I can begin to find my own grace, open heart, shining out like rays and the ability to pull my goodness in. Thank you from the bottom of my heart."
"I wanted to let you know how glad I am that I decided to do the Immersion again. I really feel like I am taking the information in on a different level. I am able to get clear on what I do know and what I need to work on."
"Thank you so much for this weekend at the Immersion, for working so hard as a teacher and for helping me open my both my shoulders and heart. For a number of reasons, I have been in a negative place lately and have felt closed off and resistant to loving energy. I desperately needed to open my heart and feel reconnected and safe. The Immersion has afforded me all three. You are a divine being and your knowledge of the body is profound. I am grateful for the opportunity to learn from you."
"You and the Anusara community have had a huge influence on me this past year. Virayoga is a place of friends, warmth, clarity and spirit that I can rely on and take great pleasure in, like no place else that I can think of in New York City. You and others have created a wonderful and nurturing place for so many people. I am sad that you are leaving the area but impressed and psyched that you are taking on something that is challenging to you and exciting, in spite of the unknowns that it presents. I have loved the Immersion and have looked forward to it every month. I look forward to more fun and learning with you in the future."
"Thanks for the encouragement and acknowledgement. My workshop went really well, and I appreciate your support in this process. You may not know it, but being a part of this Immersion is supporting all the work that I do as a coach. In going deeper with my practice and in learning more about the philosophy of yoga and Anusara priniciples, I am really getting how connected it all is to my individual purpose. And having a kula to support me in the process! Thanks for making this all possible!"
"I wanted to write and share with you how wonderful the weekend was!! so much learning, so many openings and of course fun! I am still buzzing!! i loved having the chance to study with you again and truly feel blessed to have you as a teacher in my life... i hope you know how amazing you are!!"
"Thank YOU for INSPIRING me to dedicate myself to this practice. If it weren't for you and the example you have set I wouldn't be where I am today. Truly. You are a living, moving embodiment of the principles, and you radiate love and pure intention. You are a gifted, talented, beautiful woman and teacher whom I cannot thank enough. I know the immersion is just the beginning."
"Reflecting on the Anusara Immersion with Amy I feel deep gratitude and satisfaction. Amy makes her teaching an art form that is not only informative but a pleasure to experience. I have great respect for the fine leadership and technical knowledge Amy gave us. She facilitated the integration of our group into a supportive learning environment, free from embarrassment or judgment. I admire the personal touch she adds to her relationship with her students. She imparts a genuine feeling of humanity by teaching from her own personal experience. She doesn't hesitate to use examples from her own life to illustrate a particular lesson for her students."
How yoga teachers feel after taking Teacher Training with John Friend, after first being prepped by the Immersion:
"Our week in Boston with John Friend was amazing! I want to thank you again for how well-prepared we all were for this training. For every "AHA! moment" I had (and there were many), I realized that a seed had been planted within me, that was ripe for blossoming. Your teachings have been a true reflection of John's wisdom, with attention and care down to every last detail. Our group from NY kept remarking on how happy we were that we had gone over so many essentials with you in the Immersion."
"Just wanted to say thank you for the Immersion experience. Doing the Teacher training with John friend was a very intense experience. it was very inspiring at times and very difficult as well, but the great thing was that it made me realize how much I learned through the immersion. I feel I have a very strong understanding of the alignment principles and of the basis of Anusara. So I just wanted to say thank you creating the Immersion and seeing it through."
"I am so grateful to have been studying with you for the last few years! I felt completely and totally prepared for this training with John. I realized with each session with John just how well prepared I was. With each question he asked or point he presented, I felt confident in knowing the answer (mostly!) or finding a way to access it within the principles! It was even more evident to me when I was working with other fellow students this week how fortunate I am to have had the highest level of training and preparation BEFORE I landed in John's classroom. I am ever grateful for the standards that you hold us up to, what a blessing that you are patient enough to make sure we get it right or at least as close to John's vision for Anusara as possible without it being directly from his mouth!!! The practice teaching sessions were a breeze (granted, I didn't have to do it in front of the entire group!!!)...I could literally go on and on about how prepared and confident I felt being amongst this wonderful group of students!"
People's initial response to the New Immersion Paradigm when Amy first announced the program in 2002
"I just read your letter posted on your
website about why you have decided to do Immersions instead of teacher
trainings, and I really just want to say THANK YOU! I have been feeling that
the teacher training was getting totally out of control, and that it is
becoming increasingly difficult to have faith that when you take a yoga
class, the teacher will be really good. I feel that some one had to step up
to the plate and make a stand on quality, and a distinction about what it
really means to be a teacher of something as precious and vital as yoga. I
have been so shocked at how easy it has been to be accepted into programs
and then just go out and teach. I was so impressed with your Anusara class
that I am going to sign up for the immersion. But it's not only your class,
it's the fact that Anusara yoga is willing to raise the bar, to make yoga a
respectable practice, not just a business, and to insure a high quality of
teaching professionals. I have so much respect for this, and I can only say
I think it's about time. Thank you and see you next week!"
